Toner cartridges are used in laser printers and contain a fine toner powder. They’re usually larger and more solid-looking.

Inkjet cartridges (or ink cartridges) are smaller, used in inkjet printers, and contain liquid ink.

If your printer uses liquid ink, it's an inkjet cartridge — if it uses dry powder, it’s toner.

Original (OEM) cartridges are made by the same brand as your printer — like HP, Canon, Epson, or Brother.

Compatible or remanufactured cartridges are made or refilled by third-party companies and may look slightly different from the originals and have different branding and logo’s.

If you're not sure, check the label — if it has your printer brand and logo, it's likely OEM.
